ARCHBISHOP MOELLER CELEBRATES ITS HERITAGE

On Thursday, January 25th, Archbishop Moeller High School celebrated its heritage with a special Mass in honor of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, founder of the Society of Mary. “Founder’s Awards” were presented to Whitey and Carol Campbell and Michael Moroski. The Founder’s Award is presented to those who exemplify the spirit and charism of Fr. Chaminade.

Whitey and Carol have been present at Moeller working and doing much volunteer service for over 26 years. They have given many hours to helping the athletic department and working on projects throughout the school. In his acceptance moment Whitey told the students, teachers and staff and others that “…Moeller has given much more to us then we have given to Moeller.”

The other recipient was Michael Moroski. Mike is an English teacher at Moeller who has over the last years shown students and faculty and staff the importance of the plight of the homeless in Cincinnati. Each Saturday morning Mike travels with a number of students and sometimes parents to a house in Over the Rhine which the students are rehabbing for the poor. His dedication to various justice issues has been an inspiration to all. Mike’s parents, his brother and priests from Marist High School in Atlanta were present for the ceremony.

Following Mass there was a reception for the recipients, their guests and past award winners.
